I’ve been asked several times, what grab my attention, reading other Blogs, and within which time range.
I properly noticed that there are a lot of blogs that attract me immediately, and this need a qualitative research in order to understand which the reasons are.
I already express in other posts, that blogger has to be a readers first.
In that way you can gain understanding of “Readers Care” approach.
What difference does it make?
We have to consider that “readers are People”, people are curious and for sure they do not remain for a long time on a specific blog or website, looking for something.
Post:
Anyway, “post” has a relevant importance on the reader’s point of view, so more qualitative researches have been done in this post, trying to analyze “how a post can grab reader’s attention”.
Subscribed readers Count:
Readers count on sidebar, does more than you may think.

Word of mouth:
I also believe information we hear from other people, faster than what is written in a brochure or seen on ads. Word of mouth.
Five seconds law
A reader, need a really short time to understand if the blog he’s reading is good or not.
“It’s really like TV channels, Human needs around 3 seconds to understand if sounds good or not”

Personally I notice that, within 5 seconds, I’m able to realize and valuate the blog I’m reading.
In fact, I follow around 600 blogs, just scanning them all.
Just think that, about 45% of readers just scan feeds, looking for original posts, those with something unique or those wrote in a creative and fresh way, skipping the vague ones.

The others, are one-time readers or normal surfers. The “five seconds law”, is enough to convince them to subscribe or to follow your blog.
How many time do you need?
